Alstom acquired additional 25% of JSC NC KTZh share in the joint venture LLP EKZ
December 21, 2017 in Paris, the Agreement was signed between JSC NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and "Alstom" on the acquisition of an additional 25% of share in joint venture Electrovoz Kurastyru Zauyty produsing the AC Electric locomotives.
After finish the necessary procedures, Alstom will become the majority shareholder with 75% of share in the joint venture. The Russian CJSC Transmashholding is own 25% of shares.
The agreement was signed by Maksat Kabashev, Vice-President of KTZ and Didier Pfleger, Senior Vice President of Alstom in Central Asia, Middle East and Africa region.
In addition, the parties signed an additional agreement to the current contract for the delivery of KZ8A freight electric locomotives for JSC KTZ-Freight Transportation, providing for an increase in the number of freight electric locomotives from 200 to 302 units and passenger ones from 95 to 119 units for a period up to 2029.
