Preparation for IRIS - International Railway Standard Certification
Today, the EKZ plant prepares for implementation of IRIS-2009 standards. A surveillance QMS audits for compliance with the International Standard ISO 9001-2008 was conducted at the plant in period from 12 to 15 September 2016. The training course on "Business Management System according to the IRIS. Internal auditor" was organized in October. The training on "Internal Audit" and "Understanding the requirements of IRIS standard for process managers" was passed in November. In December 2016, the pre-audit readiness of enterprises to IRIS certification is scheduled to be held.
IRIS stands for International Railway Industry Standard. It is a globally recognized standard unique to the railway sector for the evaluation of management systems.
Promoted by UNIFE and supported by operators, system integrators and equipment manufacturers, IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) complements the internationally recognized ISO 9001 quality standard introducing rail specific requirements.
The IRIS certificate will replace individual management system evaluations by at least the four founders of this initiative (Alstom Transport, AnsaldoBreda, Siemens Transportation Systems and Bombardier Transportation).
